PURPOSE: The Career Coach plays a vital role in empowering Dane County emerging adults, up to age 24, who have left high school without earning a diploma. Through outreach, engagement, coaching, and case management, the Career Coach helps participants identify their goals, overcome barriers, and connect to educational pathways that lead to long-term success.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about working with young people. They possess strong communication, relationship-building, and program management skills and are committed to fostering a supportive, strengths-based environment. This individual collaborates effectively with participants, community partners, and staff while ensuring high-quality service delivery, accurate reporting, and compliance with program requirements.
HOURS: This is a part-time position with Fridays and weekends off. Scheduled work hours are determined at time of hire, but flexible Monday through Thursday.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Provide case management services and develop Personal Success Plans to support participants in completing alternative or post-secondary education programs.
· Engage and support students who have completed high school requirements but have not earned sufficient credits to graduate.
· Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and coordinate services that support participant success.
· Build and maintain relationships with community service providers, establish referral networks, and connect youth to appropriate resources.
· Maintain accurate participant records, including contact information, case notes, and outcome data.
· Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to funding sources and assist with grant reporting and data collection as needed.
