Job Summary
As a Restaurant Cashier, you are the face of our restaurant and the final point of contact for our guests. Your primary responsibilities include accurately processing guest orders, managing cash and digital payments through our point-of-sale (POS) system, and ensuring every guest leaves with a positive impression. You will also coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure order accuracy for dine-in, takeout, and delivery services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service & Order Management
Greet guests warmly as they approach the counter or register.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system, ensuring any special modifications or dietary restrictions are correctly communicated to the kitchen.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the menu, ingredients, daily specials, and ongoing promotions to answer guest questions and confidently suggest add-ons or combos.
Manage phone orders and digital orders from third-party delivery platforms or online ordering systems, ensuring they are entered and tracked correctly.
2. Financial Handling & POS Accuracy
Process payments efficiently, including cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and mobile payments.
Issue accurate change and receipts while maintaining a highly secure and organized cash drawer.
Reconcile the cash drawer at the beginning and end of every shift, accurately accounting for all transactions and reporting any discrepancies to the shift manager.
3. Operations & Front-of-House Support
Package takeout and delivery orders securely, double-checking items against the receipt to ensure all proteins, sides, sauces, and utensils are included.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized counter space, register area, and condiment station.
Assist team members during peak rushes by helping wipe down tables, restocking beverages, or running food to tables if needed.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience as a cashier, barista, or in a customer-facing role is a plus, but we are happy to train individuals with the right attitude.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast) is highly preferred.
Basic Math Skills: Ability to quickly and accurately calculate totals, count cash back, and manage basic transactions.
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on patience, clarity, and a welcoming tone.
Stamina: Ability to remain standing for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (e.g., restocking beverage refrigerators or ice bins).
