VARSITY BOYS SOCCER ASSISTANT COACH STEVENS HIGH SCHOOL
OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director, the Junior Varsity Coach will work to coordinate the Stevens High School Boys Soccer program
-
Develop and establish a high-quality program founded on sound principles, strong team values, and the ethics of hard work, commitment, loyalty, honesty, respect and sportsmanship all within a fun learning atmosphere
-
Help to communicate all information regarding the Stevens High School Boys Soccer program to the parents, and community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
ABILITY TO:
-
Work cooperatively with the Head Varsity Coach, administration, staff, parents, community and key stakeholders of SHS Boys Soccer
-
Motivate and connect with our student athletes
-
Be an integral member of a program that spans grades 6-12
-
Work cooperatively with and support all other coaches in serving the needs and interests of all student/athletes
-
Combine the reinforcement of basic skills with advanced skills needed for a competitive soccer program
-
Communicate with Athletic Trainer to ensure safety and healthiness of student athletes
-
Utilize Strength & Conditioning Coach for conditioning of student athetes
KNOWLEDGE OF:
-
High School Soccer and the complexities of the game/events
-
Current NFHS and NHIAA rules, policies and procedures
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
-
Commitment to program and helping the growth of student athletes
-
Strong work ethic coupled with great leadership
-
Ability to provide constructive feedback to student athletes

Superior organizational skills
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
-
Red Cross First Aid certificate, including CPR training
-
NFHS and NHIAA coaching requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
-
At least three years of successful Middle School and/or High School or Club level experience preferred

Participation as a Soccer athlete at the high school or collegiate level preferred
