American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) travel position in Lawton, OK, requiring at least 2 years of psych experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Behavioral Health / Psychiatric unit in a hospital setting
-
12-hour night shifts
-
Weekend coverage required on an as-needed basis
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
13-week contract

Active OK RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA)
-
Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
-
Minimum 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required

De-escalation training preferred
-
Recent travel nursing experience preferred

Contributes to the formulation and weekly review of individualized patient care plans
-
Provides medication education to patients and families and ensures accurate documentation of emotional and mental health observations
-
Facilitates teaching and educational groups as part of the unit's schedule
-
Trains LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques
-
Participates in performance improvement (PI) teams or unit task forces and may accept educational or marketing assignments as directed

Maintains current Therapeutic Options certification
