Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demos when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout counter and surrounding areas
- Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and ensure products are well-presented for easy shopping
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity and accuracy
- Upsell relevant products or promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members or overseeing store operations during shifts
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills, friendly demeanor, and excellent customer service orientation are essential
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, product demos, or retail sales will support success in this role
