BayCare is Tampa Bay’s leading multi-specialty group with more than 600 providers practicing 45 specialties across over 175 outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and west central Florida regions.
As a Medical Assistant or LPN , you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment
- Collecting patient histories and preparing patients for visits
- Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab
- Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients
- Maintaining patient education materials
- Managing and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintaining medical equipment and ordering clinical supplies
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Preferred:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training
Preferred:
- Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience
Required:
- Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT
- Paramedic
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Additional Preference:
- Candidates who have completed a Medical Assistant externship are encouraged to include the location and dates of their externship on their application and resume
