Duties
- Assist with the care and monitoring of hospitalized patients in the ICU under the direction of a veterinarian or credentialed veterinary technician.
- Support treatments and medical procedures in the treatment area as directed by a veterinarian or technician.
- Assist technicians with patient care, procedures, and treatments as needed.
- Provide husbandry care for hospitalized patients, including walking, feeding, cleaning, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties throughout the hospital to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples for microscopic evaluation.
- Assist with obtaining diagnostic radiographs.
- Set up, clean, and maintain surgical suites before and after procedures.
- Clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with the care and treatment of patients housed in isolation, following established biosecurity protocols and under the supervision of a veterinarian or technician.
- Administer medications as directed and under the supervision of a veterinarian or technician.
- Obtain blood samples under the supervision of a veterinarian or technician.
- Assist Client Coordinators and Doctor's Assistants with phone calls, client communication, and other customer service-related tasks as needed.
- Support all departments as needed to ensure efficient hospital operations and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or emergency hospital setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail and safety protocols.
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
