Position Summary KOTA CANNA is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Budtender to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, can handle cash transactions accurately, and is eager to learn about cannabis products and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all New Jersey cannabis regulations. Educate customers on cannabis products including flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and accessories. Make personalized product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences. Process transactions accurately using the POS system. Handle cash, make change, and maintain accurate cash drawer balances.
Promote loyalty program enrollment and participation.
Assist with inventory restocking, merchandising, and product displays. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor.
Participate in product training and stay informed on new product offerings. Support marketing initiatives, store events, and community outreach activities. Follow all company policies, security procedures, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Required Skills Basic math skills required.
Ability to accurately count cash and make change. Comfortable calculating discounts, promotions, and loyalty point redemptions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to learn and operate POS systems efficiently. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications Cannabis industry experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish. Social media, photography, or content creation experience.
Experience participating in community events or brand promotion.
Social Media Presence Requirement
This position includes appearing in content for our company's social media channels. Candidates should be comfortable being photographed and/or featured in videos for marketing and promotional purposes.
