Summary:
As a Direct Support Professional(DSP), you will play a vital role inn the daily lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. You will provide direct care, support and guidance to residents, helping them achieve their personal goals while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support residents in developing and maintain social skills and community involvement.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages independence.
- Implement individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required for resident safety.
- Administer first aid and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in direct support or caregiving roles preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care and working with individuals with autism is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident assistance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents and team members.
