Families & Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our Head Start/NC Pre-K team. This position requires a current North Carolina Birth–Kindergarten (BK) license. At FCR, we believe every child deserves a strong start. Our Preschool Teachers create nurturing, engaging classrooms where children develop the academic, social, emotional, and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Promote children’s literacy, language, math, physical, social, and emotional development.

Create and maintain a safe, healthy, welcoming, and organized classroom.

Collaborate with the assistant teacher and other classroom staff.

Develop lesson plans and prepare classroom learning centers and materials.

Use Creative Curriculum GOLD to assess and document children’s developmental progress.

Maintain accurate attendance, meal, assessment, and classroom records.

Build positive relationships with children and their families.

Conduct required home visits and parent-teacher conferences.

Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress.

Maintain active supervision of children in the classroom, on the playground, and during program activities.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, and program events.
-
Follow Head Start Performance Standards, North Carolina childcare requirements, and FCR policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Current North Carolina Birth–Kindergarten (BK) license required.

At least one year of experience teaching preschool-aged children in a high-quality early childhood program.

Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.

Ability to meet the physical demands of an active early childhood classroom, including lifting up to approximately 40 pounds.
- At least two years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood program.

Previous Head Start or North Carolina Pre-K experience.
