Responsibilities:
- Responsible for patient care in the Recovery Room after surgeries
- Administer all medications, as ordered and as appropriate. Ability to start and/or remove IV's as needed. Proper documentation of controlled substances.
- Monitor patient vital signs according to protocols; document appropriately
- Supervise the performance of the Recovery Room assistant when applicable
- Provide post-operative counseling to patients, including aftercare, medications, and contraception.
- Treat patients in a caring, but timely fashion to allow appropriate patient flow
Needed on occasional Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays when the Director of Nursing is not available (you will not be scheduled every week)
Hours fluctuate: start time 7:00 to 9:00 AM; end time between 12 and 5 PM.
Requirements:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA
- Maintain current BLS (required) and ACLS (preferred)
- PALS certification is suggested, but not required
- Experience with AdvancedMD preferred but not required
- Vaccinated against COVID
