Champagne Poetry is looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager in Training to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside Chef Dan Bian and learn every aspect of operating one of Portland s most distinctive hospitality businesses.
This position supports both our Hawthorne Bakery & Patisserie and our NW 23rd Restaurant & Champagne Bar.
We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Starting Compensation
$24.00 per hour- Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Opportunity for additional hours based on business needs
- Employee meals during shifts
- Hands-on training with Chef Dan Bian
After successfully completing a 90-day training period, qualified team members will be considered for a full-time salaried management position with company benefits and future leadership opportunities.

We re Looking For Someone Who
Has a positive attitude and enjoys working hard- Has basic wine knowledge (WSET Level 1 or similar is a plus, but not required)
- Has basic business or management knowledge
- Loves food, pastries, desserts, coffee, and hospitality
- Learns quickly and takes initiative
- Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Leads by example and is willing to help wherever needed
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Is available to work weekends and holidays
