The primary responsibility of the Cape Shore Assistant Operations Manager is to support the Operations Manager in planning and executing daily operations and to lead day-to-day floor activities and order flow. This role ensures work runs smoothly across all areas of the operation providing hands-on direction to the team under the Operations Manager's guidance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Cape Shore operations, able to assist with onboarding, training, and daily support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
- Organization – Maintains order flow, team assignments, and daily priorities to ensure smooth, timely processing in a fast-paced environment.
- Decision Making – Makes timely, day-to-day decisions that support efficient order movement while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
- Collaborative approach with management and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Specific Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily priorities with the Operations Manager for smooth order flow.
- Oversee floor operations, motivate, and guide the team.
- Daily Supervision – Provide direct, hands-on supervision to team members on the floor, ensuring work is completed correctly, productivity remains on track, and employees have the guidance and support they need throughout the day. Coordinate directly with the Operations Manager, Human Resources, and Directors on any employee relations matters, performance management, and workforce development initiatives.
- Monitor order accuracy and address issues promptly.
- Provide hands-on support, jumping into operational roles as needed.
- Physical Plant & Facilities – Assist the Operations Manager with coordinating building and grounds maintenance, snow/ice removal, basic landscaping services, waste services, and vendor-managed repair.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to move throughout a warehouse, production, and office environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and packages weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist frequently while assisting with operational tasks.
- Ability to climb stairs and use ladders safely when necessary.
- Ability to read labels, shipping documents, computer screens, and other printed materials with or without reasonable accommodation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
