Experience:
At least 2 years as a family law legal assistant in Northern California
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Organize and maintain client files and case documents
- Schedule appointments and manage attorney calendars
- Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written summaries
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal assistant in family law
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology in family law
- Proficient in document management systems and legal case management software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document review and preparation
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research using various resources
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and professional client interaction
