CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

EH Butland, Corp is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team and lead complex commercial and institutional construction projects throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with a strong track record managing ground-up construction, underground parking structures, tenant improvements, and healthcare projects subject to OSHPD/HCAI requirements. This position requires someone who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout and effectively coordinate owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage construction projects from preconstruction through completion and turnover.
2. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans.
3. Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
4. Manage ground-up construction projects, including site development and complex structural work.
5. Oversee underground parking structures, excavation, shoring, waterproofing, concrete, and related scopes.
6. Manage tenant improvement projects, including occupied or operational environments.
7. Lead healthcare construction projects and coordinate OSHPD/HCAI requirements, inspections, documentation, and compliance.
8. Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents.
9. Identify and resolve field, design, scheduling, and coordination issues.
10. Conduct and lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
11. Monitor subcontractor performance, quality, safety, schedule, and costs.
12. Work closely with estimating and preconstruction teams on budgets, constructability, value engineering, and bid packages.
13. Manage project closeout, punch lists, commissioning, documentation, and turnover.
14. Maintain strong relationships with owners and project stakeholders while protecting the company's interests.
Qualifications
1. 7+ years of construction project management experience with a general contractor.
2. Demonstrated experience managing ground-up commercial/institutional construction.
3. Strong experience with underground parking structures and complex concrete/structural construction.
4. Experience managing tenant improvement projects.
5. Healthcare construction experience is strongly preferred.
6. Direct experience with OSHPD/HCAI-regulated projects is highly preferred.
7. Strong understanding of California construction practices, building codes, inspections, and permitting.
8. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and specialty drawings.
9. Strong knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, contracts, change management, and subcontractor management.
10. Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
11. Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software such as Procore, 12. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
12. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent field experience will be considered.
The Ideal Candidate
1. We are looking for someone who is more than an administrator, construction leader who understands how projects are built and knows how to keep a complex project moving.
2. You should be comfortable walking a jobsite, reviewing drawings with a superintendent, discussing schedule impacts with subcontractors, resolving design issues with the architect, and communicating project status with ownership.
3. The successful candidate will be organized, accountable, technically strong, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities without losing sight of safety, quality, schedule, or budget.

Salary is negotiable and will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, project history, and demonstrated ability to lead a project of this size and complexity.
