We are looking to bring on a SEASONAL PART- TIME SALES ASSOCIATE during our busiest season at The Cold Spring General Store with a start time of mid-late August.
**Ideal Start Date - Aug. 15th - Sept. 1st**
About Us: Located on lower Main Street in Cold Spring for the past twelve years, we proudly offer a boutique-style retail experience for both local and visiting customers. We appeal to our customers by creating a welcoming atmosphere where they can browse a well curated selection of food and beverage items, women's clothing, home wares, candles, and books, highlighting local makers and the surrounding region.
We excited to invite in new floor sales associates to join our small and vibrant team to work in our Main Street store. Prior retail and front-facing customer experience is ideal! Experience multitasking while being warm & personable is a requirement. Candidates should be outgoing, responsible, well-organized, and confident initiating conversations with our customers throughout the day.
Floor Staff Duties: Be friendly, welcoming, and capable of multitasking while maintaining interaction with customers throughout the day. You must also be able to:
- learn our online Lightspeed Retail POS system and be able to work at the register. Cash handling and gift wrapping experience is a plus!
- learn details about our products in order to inform and answer questions for our customers
- perform lifting and bending tasks, such as moving small boxes, cleaning and dusting throughout the day
- help staff intake inventory, organize products on the floor and in storage
- answer phones and take detailed phone messages/orders
Since we are in retail, applicants for our sales associate position should be regularly available on our busiest days, which are usually Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays. Shifts will range from 4-8 hours while the store is open. No overnights or late evenings are required. **THIS IS A WEEKEND POSTION**
We are a very small team, and schedule employees based on need. Being reliable and having the ability to arrive to shifts on time is a requirement. Once employees are fully-trained, shift can include opening and/or closing duties!
Applicants should be located within a reasonable commute to the store.
Knowledge of the surrounding region is a plus!
Pay is based on experience, and will range between $18 - $22 per hour
