Job Summary
Adirondack CarePlus is seeking a professional NEMT Driver to join our healthcare logistics team Watertown, NY. As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation specialist, you will provide safe, door-through-door service for patients attending medical appointments. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in patient care, professional driving, or emergency services who are looking for a stable, full-time career with comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Transport: Provide safe and timely transport for patients to/from medical facilities and residences within the Watertown area.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain 100% adherence to HIPAA regulations, company safety protocols, and New York State traffic laws.
- Fleet Care: Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure a clean, sanitized, and well-maintained environment.
- Communication: Utilize GPS and dispatch software to maintain real-time communication regarding routing, delays, and patient status.
- Physical Assistance: Assist patients with mobility needs, including loading and unloading medical equipment (wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc.).
Core Qualifications (Required)
- License: Valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Experience: 1+ yrs experience in passenger transportation, NEMT, or a healthcare-related driving role.
- Navigation: Proficiency using GPS technology and the ability to adapt to scheduled routing changes.
- Soft Skills: High level of interpersonal communication and a "patient-first" service mindset.
- Compliance: Basic understanding of NEMT compliance and safe driving practices for vulnerable populations.
