Swanson Martin & Bell, LLP has an opening for an experienced Paralegal to litigation attorneys at our Chicago office. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, able to manage busy attorneys and work independently.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to,

Draft routine legal documents for review and use by attorneys.

Organizing and coordinating legal proceedings

Interacting with clients, witnesses, and court personnel

Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation by way of consistent communication with client, claims and full partnership with attorney through end of case.

Investigation of parties and experts

Preparing reports to help lawyers prepare for trials

Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.

Categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses and records produced by opposing counsel.

Assisting in depositions, witness preparation, and research

Handling exhibits during court proceedings
The position may include certain administrative tasks, including:

Preparing e-filings for state and federal court, scheduling depositions where many parties are involved,

Performing administrative duties such as calendar management and case file organization, maintaining attorneys' calendars, opening new files, time entry, preparing expense reports (ChromeRiver), and day-to-day responsibilities.
Required Experience & Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of litigation defense experience; will consider motivated candidates with less experience if applicable

Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team, to assist attorneys

Excellent communication skills, including attention to detail in writing

Proficient in Microsoft skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Document Management System (DMS) experience
Compensation: $38.46-$43.96 per hour ($70k-$80k), DOE
