CNC Setup Machinist – 2nd Shift

We're looking for an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our second shift machining team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership of machine setups, and producing high-quality precision parts.
Unlike high-volume production shops, we primarily run short- to medium-run production lots. You'll perform a variety of setups and work on different parts instead of running the same job every day.
This position includes a 10% second shift premium. The posted compensation includes the shift premium.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform complete setups on CNC mills and lathes
- Install tooling, workholding, and fixtures
- Load and verify CNC programs
- Produce first-piece parts for inspection
- Make offsets and process adjustments to maintain quality
- Perform tool changes and replace inserts as needed
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
- Perform minor program edits when necessary
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment
- Support operators and help maintain efficient production
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC setup experience preferred
- Experience setting up CNC mills or CNC lathes (experience with both is a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Working knowledge of G and M code
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail

Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check, consistent with applicable laws.
Pay: $27.50 - $35.20 per hour
