SUMMARY
The dishwasher maintains the kitchen’s sanitation and its supplies/equipment. S/he is responsible for the organization of kitchen supplies and equipment maintaining a neat and orderly working condition
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans china, glassware, and flatware in a sanitary and efficient manner
- Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
- Maintains dry and clean kitchen floors, garbage areas, and loading dock
- Ensures that kitchen equipment (ovens, refrigerators, exhaust hoods, stainless steel) is cleaned and polished on a regular cleaning cycle
- Stocks supplies such as utensils in serving stations, cupboards, or refrigerators
- Cleans and polishes banquet equipment
- Maintains a clean staff dining area and restrooms
- Cleans and maintains garbage receptacles in an orderly manner
- Removes and cleans rubber floor mats
- Sweeps or scrubs floors
- Loads or unloads trucks that deliver or pick up food for offsite banquets
- Maintains inventories of necessary chemicals and cleaning supplies
- All other appropriate duties as assigned by the Sous or Executive Chef

Dishwashers must be organized and have good interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, proper sanitation, and good personal hygiene standards are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Dishwashers should be able to understand directions in English.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Minimal computer skills are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Minimal mathematical skills are required.
REASONING ABILITY
Dishwashers should have the ability to solve problems with minimal assistance.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Dishwashers must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and crouch. They also must be able to carry lift and fifty pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position involves a moderate stress due to peak periods. Moderate noise and high kitchen heat. Workweek includes evenings and weekends.
