Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various vehicle systems using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on engines, including diesel engine repair and automotive engine system repairs, ensuring optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques to execute maintenance tasks effectively.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and electrical systems to troubleshoot wiring faults and electrical malfunctions.
- Carry out vehicle maintenance procedures such as alignments, wheel balancing, heavy lifting, and general servicing to maintain safety standards.
- Repair and service vehicle powertrain components, including transmissions and engine components, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicles are returned in top condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dealership environment or similar automotive service setting.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and heavy lifting techniques.
- Skilled in engine repair, powertrain work, and automotive system troubleshooting using diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation, auto body repair basics, and automotive wiring diagrams.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while working with heavy vehicle components or equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive engine technology, vehicle systems, and maintenance procedures.
- Valid certification as an Automotive Technician - A class or equivalent qualification; ASE certification preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
