Parts Counter Specialist
Star Equipment, Ltd. has an immediate opening for a Parts Counter Specialist at our Des Moines facility located at 1401 2nd Avenue.
Founded in 1968, Star Equipment is a third-generation, family-owned Iowa company that has grown to 85 employees across four locations: Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Ames. We provide a wide range of equipment, from small generators and concrete saws to skid loaders, forklifts, concrete pumps, and crane trucks.
Job Responsibilities
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
· Answer incoming phone calls and provide excellent customer service
· Locate and source parts for customers
· Supply parts and materials to the rental and service departments to help maintain workflow and schedules
· Stock parts and assist with inventory control
· Maintain and maximize parts and supply displays
· Perform deliveries and pickups throughout the Des Moines metro area
· Assist with shipping and receiving operations
· Order parts and track inventory needs
· Crosstrain and assist in other departments as needed
· Bi-lingual is a plus
Qualifications
· Positive, outgoing personality with pride in your work
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Previous construction industry, equipment, or parts supplier experience preferred
· Basic computer skills
· Strong telephone and communication skills
· Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform repetitive bending and stooping
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no restrictions

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
