Position Summary
Per-geesh Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator I with at least five years of estimating experience supporting federal and military construction projects. This remote position assists with the development of accurate, compliant, and competitive cost estimates and proposal pricing. The successful candidate will evaluate solicitation documents, quantify scopes of work, develop pricing, coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, and support proposal submissions in a deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Review federal solicitations, amendments, drawings, specifications, statements of work, bid schedules, and contract requirements.
· Prepare conceptual, budgetary, design-development, and detailed construction cost estimates for federal and military projects.
· Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, general-conditions, overhead, and fee components.
· Solicit, organize, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations; identify scope gaps, exclusions, and pricing risks.
· Develop and maintain estimate files, bid tabs, assumptions, clarifications, and supporting documentation sufficient for internal review and audit.
· Coordinate with project management, business development, operations, design professionals, joint-venture partners, and technical personnel.
· Support compliance reviews for bid instructions, wage determinations, bonds, insurance, representations, certifications, and other solicitation requirements.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, pricing reviews, risk reviews, and proposal strategy meetings, primarily through Microsoft Teams.
· Enter and maintain accurate opportunity, contact, project, and estimating information in Procore and Salesforce.
· Assist with proposal pricing forms, cost narratives, schedules, and other estimating deliverables for timely government submission.
· Track questions, requests for information, addenda, and estimate revisions through final submission and handoff.
· Protect confidential, proprietary, procurement-sensitive, and controlled project information in accordance with company and contract requirements.
Required Qualifications
· At least five years of construction estimating experience involving federal government and/or U.S. military projects.
· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, solicitations, bid schedules, and statements of work.
· Working knowledge of federal construction procurement, competitive bidding, cost development, subcontractor pricing, and proposal compliance.
· Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Procore, and Salesforce.
· Advanced Excel skills sufficient to build and maintain formulas, pricing models, bid tabs, and cost summaries.
· Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
· Ability to manage multiple estimates and competing deadlines independently in a remote work environment.
· Reliable high-speed internet access and a private, professional workspace suitable for virtual meetings and confidential work.
· Ability to travel to project sites if required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
· Experience with design-build, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), SATOC, MATOC, task-order, and/or negotiated federal procurements.
· Familiarity with Davis-Bacon wage determinations, Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements, and federal proposal pricing practices.
· Experience coordinating pricing with architectural and engineering disciplines, joint-venture partners, and small-business subcontractors.

Remote Work and Other Requirements
· Maintain availability during the company’s established core business hours and attend scheduled virtual meetings.
· Communicate progress, constraints, and schedule risks promptly to the estimating lead or designated manager.
· Travel occasionally for site visits, pre-bid conferences, project meetings, or other business needs, when required.
· Remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods; regularly communicate by telephone and video conference.
· Comply with company cybersecurity, document-control, records-management, and remote-work policies.

Pay: $69,815.90 - $84,079.36 per year
