Skyline Transport is growing and is seeking dependable, safety-focused Medical Transportation Drivers to join our team in Brandon, Florida.
This position primarily involves stretcher transportation, with occasional wheelchair transports, for patients traveling to and from hospitals, rehabilitation centers, dialysis appointments, medical procedures, and other healthcare facilities throughout the Tampa Bay area.
This is not a caregiver position and not an emergency response role. This is a physically active driving position requiring professionalism, safe patient handling, and exceptional customer service.
No CDL required. Company vehicle and fuel card are provided during your scheduled shift.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional driving experience (NEMT, EMS, ambulance, medical transport, shuttle, delivery, rideshare, commercial driving, or similar)
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Clean driving record- No DUI, DWI, reckless driving, license suspensions, or major moving violations
- Ability to provide a 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical)
- Pass a national criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment 10-panel drug screen
- Reliable transportation to and from our Brandon office daily
Ideal candidates live within approximately 30 minutes of our Brandon, FL office. Daily schedules often begin early and are assigned the afternoon before. Drivers must be able to report to work on time each day, making proximity to our office strongly preferred.
Company vehicles begin and end each shift at our Brandon location and are not permitted to be taken home.
What We're Looking For
Professional driving experience is required, but we're also looking for people who genuinely enjoy helping others.
Many of the passengers we transport are elderly, recovering from surgery, or medically fragile. We want drivers who are patient, compassionate, dependable, and committed to treating every passenger with dignity and respect.
This is a hands-on transportation position. Drivers are expected to actively assist with patient movement and transfers—it is not solely a driving job.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities
- Perform stretcher transports as your primary responsibility, with wheelchair transports as assigned
- Safely assist with transferring patients between beds and stretchers using proper body mechanics, equipment, and team lifting techniques when appropriate
- Lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and transport equipment as part of daily job duties
- Load, secure, transport, and unload passengers using approved procedures
- Operate wheelchair lifts, stretchers, and securement systems safely
- Complete vehicle inspections before and after each shift
- Communicate throughout the day with dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare facility staff
- Report directly to the Operations Manager
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position.
Drivers must be able to:
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver passengers and equipment exceeding 200 pounds with assistance when appropriate
- Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach throughout the workday
- Push and maneuver stretchers and transport equipment
- Operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems
- Stand and walk for extended periods
Schedule
This is a full-time position.
- Company operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Drivers are scheduled within those operating hours and receive full-time hours based on business needs
- Daily schedules are assigned the afternoon before
- Start and end times vary from day to day depending on patient demand and scheduled trips
- This is not a fixed schedule, so flexibility and dependable attendance are essential

Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including:

Compensation
$17.00 – $19.00 per hour depending on expeirence
