MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in a Criminal Justice field or other related field and at least five years of experience in a senior criminal justice administrator position required (Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, Deputy Chief, Chief Deputy, Chief, Sheriff).
The position requires leadership experience with executive level leadership training through the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy, Northwestern University School of Staff and Command or University of Louisville Southern Police Institute. Additionally, the position requires a background in law enforcement training, operations, budgets and policing strategies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, including faculty, criminal justice trainees, professionals, and administrators. Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as general knowledge in areas of foundation of law enforcement, law, the police/corrections function and human behavior, patrol, criminal and internal investigations, traffic, police proficiency, firearms and officer wellness.
Must have ability to use Canvas LMS and Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel, Word, Publisher, and Access.
