Behavioral Health Professional
Valley Community Services is looking for qualified behavioral health professionals to provide supports to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism diagnoses. This role offers the opportunity to interact with the people we serve and to offer training support to the staff. This is a salaried position that works under the direct supervision of a licensed Psychologist.
In existence since 1976, Valley Community Services provides supports to over 250 Pennsylvanians with intellectual disabilities and autism diagnoses in a variety of residential and non-residential programs across nine counties. Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Human Services field
- Experience in the Human Services field
- Valid professional license as required by Office of Developmental Programs I.E. BSS license through PA Dept of Medicine or an ABA License.
- Valid PA driver’s license
Minimum Requirements:
· Gathers preliminary information for psychological assessment reports under the supervision of a state licensed psychologist.
· Gathers preliminary data for monthly psychologist reviews.
· Attends all Human Rights Committee meetings and acts as liaison with community members.
· Increases behavioral and social skills knowledge by participating in the training of Valley Community Services’ employees working with in-service training as assigned.
· Shares and gains relevant information by participating in meetings, conferences, or activities (in order to enhance personal development, provide essential input into individual concerns, and contribute to program planning and quality services for clients).
· Documents finding by offering objective written and oral reports that are data-based and timely (in order to enhance program evaluation).
· Provides staff training on the use of safety mechanics techniques.
Reviews applications for admission, attends monthly CLA staffing as a Behavior Management Consultant, and participates in 30-day Interdisciplinary Team meetings as necessary.
· Attends annual IDT meetings.
· Identification of functional job requirements include the ability to:
· Prepare written communication to subordinate and supervisory staff.
· Prepare written communication to people outside of Valley Community Services.
· Speaks before large and small groups of people for the purpose of providing training.
· Communicates effectively (orally and in writing).
· Understands written and verbal instructions.
· Completes forms, questionnaires, and interrogatories.
· Reviews data from psychological appointments
· Reviews the EHR for trends and looks for trends to change active treatment plans.
· Creates restrictive procedures and fade plans
