We are seeking a Service Desk Technician to support the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for end users, providing Tier I and Tier II technical support across a range of IT systems. You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalate complex problems, and ensure timely resolution to maintain operational continuity.
This position supports a high-visibility research mission within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver responsive, customer-focused service. This is a nonremote, on-site role with potential relocation assistance. The position offers a path for career growth and the opportunity to contribute to national defense through innovative technology support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for hardware and software.
- Recommend system modifications to enhance the usability of Information Systems and network resources.
- Route and escalate requests to Tier III and other teams for quick customer issue resolution.
- May work alongside network services, software systems engineering teams, and/or application development teams to restore service and correct core problems.

Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must have at least five (5) years of relevant experience working in an IT or Service Desk environment.
- IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
- Ability to work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing structures and new requirements.
- Must receive Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or equivalent, within 6 months of start date.
Preferred:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
- Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
- Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
