We are a busy surgical center in need of OR Nurses, Pre-Op nurses, and PACU nurses. MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH DAYS AND HOURS.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Performs thorough preoperative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting.
- Ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and in order.
- Takes and records vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
- Initiates IVs and ensures that patients are informed about the procedure.
- Assesses patients’ post-operative condition.
- Monitors vital signs.
- Documents patient’s progress and all findings in chart.
- Answers patient questions and ensures they are kept comfortable.
- Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period.
- Monitors patients for condition changes and reports any changes to the physician.
- Performs intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.
- Opens sterile items correctly and checks instruments for completeness and function.
- Displays expertise in scrubbing, gowning and gloving.
- Monitors and maintains sterile field in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
- Displays good communication skills with circulator/surgeon.
- Provides timely and effective room turnover.
- Properly handles and disposes of sharps.
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE AMBULATORY SURGICAL CENTER OR HOSPITAL SETTING EXPERIENCE
- Per Diem/ Part time/ Possibility for Full time
- Aware of HIPAA laws
- General knowledge of medical documents
- General knowledge of sterile technique
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 1 year experience preferred of related experience in ambulatory surgery center or similar setting
- Strong positive interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to function in a fast paced out-patient environment
- New Grads considered

Pay: $45.00 - $47.00 per hour
