Duties
- Review detailed construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive estimates
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare accurate cost projections
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present estimates for review and approval
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
- Assist in developing project schedules and cost control strategies based on estimates
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents for future reference and audits
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and project management principles
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Familiarity with cost control techniques to manage budgets effectively
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications accurately
- Construction site experience is a plus, providing practical insight into project execution
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates confidently
