Duties
- Receive, unload, and load shipments using material handling equipment such as RF scanners, pallet jacks, and forklifts while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Stock shelves, racks, and storage areas with retail or warehouse products accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct inventory checks using inventory management systems to ensure stock levels are maintained and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage or sales area to promote safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist customers in locating products or provide support in retail settings with product knowledge and merchandising.
- Operate shipping & receiving processes including labeling, packaging, and preparing items for dispatch or restocking.
- Use communication skills to coordinate with team members regarding stock levels, product placement, and maintenance needs.
Skills
- Proficiency with RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse or retail material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory control effectively.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Experience in retail store operations, grocery stores, or warehouses is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling procedures.
- Basic math skills for counting, pricing, and inventory management tasks.
- Customer service orientation with a focus on providing a positive shopping or working experience.
- Knowledge of retail math principles such as stock rotation and sales calculations.
- Attention to detail in stocking, merchandising, and maintaining accurate records of shipments and inventory levels.
