About UsTucson Rubberized Coatings is a fast-growing manufacturer of high-performance paints and coatings. We are seeking a hands-on Batching Supervisor to lead production on our 2nd shift and support continued operational growth.
Position SummaryThe Batching Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nightly batch production, ensuring quality and safety standards, and leading a team of batch assistants and warehouse personnel. This is a working leadership role requiring both technical batching expertise and team supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Quality
- Accurately weigh, measure, and blend raw materials per batch formulas
- Operate, clean, and maintain mixers, pumps, and tanks
- Perform in-process quality checks (viscosity, weight, consistency)
- Ensure all batches meet product specifications and documentation standards
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, assign, and coordinate daily work of batch assistants and warehouse staff
- Train and coach employees on SOPs, safety, and performance expectations
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, and efficiency across the shift
- Support staffing decisions and performance management as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce PPE usage and material handling safety procedures
- Maintain clean work areas and enforce contamination-prevention practices
- Report and respond to safety incidents, hazards, and equipment issues
Inventory & Operations
- Monitor raw material usage and inventory levels
- Communicate shortages and production risks to management
- Support continuous improvement in batching processes
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in chemical or coatings manufacturing
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow batch formulas
- Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced production environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Comfortable in industrial environments (heat, noise, chemicals)
Schedule
- Full-time: 4:00 PM – 4:00 AM
- 50-hour work week with mandatory overtime

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
