Job Overview
The Controller is responsible for the entire accounting cycle at ILC — from daily bookkeeping to financial reporting. This position ensures accuracy in all financial records, provides leadership with meaningful data, and maintains compliance with tax and reporting standards. We are looking for someone that is tech forward and can implement new technologies to improve processes.
This is a hands-on, full-cycle role in a dynamic, entrepreneurial company — ideal for someone who enjoys both detail-oriented accounting work and accounting leadership.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee and perform all bookkeeping functions: A/P, A/R, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Manage month-end and year-end closings
- Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting schedules
- Process journal entries and ensure proper documentation
- Prepare and submit sales tax and other compliance filings
Financial Reporting
- Produce timely, accurate monthly financial statements and cash flow reports
- Provide management with insights on trends, margins, and variances
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
- Support external tax preparation and financial reviews
Job Costing & Inventory
- Maintain accurate job cost tracking and reporting
- Monitor inventory levels, cost allocations, and work-in-progress
- Collaborate with operations and sales to ensure financial accuracy
Process & Systems Management
- Maintain and improve QuickBooks Online setup and related integrations
- Develop and implement internal controls, procedures, and documentation
- Identify process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency
Payroll & HR Coordination
- Oversee or process payroll and benefit-related accounting
- Partner with Office Manager for onboarding/offboarding and HR administration
- Ensure payroll taxes, 401(k), and benefits are recorded correctly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5–10 years of accounting experience, with full-cycle bookkeeping proficiency
- Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, and small business finance
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
