Schedule: Approximately 1,040 hours over 12 months

Job Summary
We are seeking Social Services Assistants to support student services at the Timber Lake Job Corps Center. This position assists students in a residential and educational environment by promoting positive social skills, supporting safety and behavioral expectations, and helping maintain a structured, respectful, and supportive setting.
The Social Services Assistant will work with students and staff to support daily student activities, observe and report social or behavioral concerns, and help ensure students comply with center rules, safety standards, and program expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assist students in understanding and developing positive social and workplace-readiness skills.
- Model appropriate behavior and professionalism.
- Observe and report social, behavioral, disciplinary, or safety concerns.
- Support student compliance with safety rules and center expectations.
- Provide leadership and direction to students in daily routines, housekeeping, hygiene, recreation, and other activities.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Maintain order and help promote a safe, respectful living and learning environment.
- Use Job Corps-related databases and software as required.
- Follow all site policies, safety requirements, and contractor conduct standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young adults.
- Ability to recognize and report behavioral, social, or disciplinary concerns.
- Basic computer and database/software skills.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Ability to follow safety rules, center procedures, and program requirements.
- Must be able to pass applicable background/security requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to drive students in Government vehicles may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth, students, residential programs, social services, behavioral support, Job Corps, education, or similar environments.
- Experience maintaining student records or using case-management/database systems.
