Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of natural hair braiding techniques, including box braids, Senegalese twists, goddess locs, and other protective styles tailored to client preferences.
- Consult with clients to understand their hair goals, recommend suitable styles, and provide professional advice on hair maintenance and care.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly sterilizing tools such as straight razors, combs, and hair extensions equipment.
- Use salon software like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records management, and retail sales tracking.
- Assist clients with additional services such as hair extensions
- Promote retail products related to hair care, hair extensions, , and styling tools through upselling techniques to enhance client satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with clients about their styling options while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
- Stay current with industry trends in hair styling, and new products or methods in the beauty industry.
- Mentor junior stylists or apprentices by sharing expertise in hair threading, , sanitation practices, and client communication strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on natural hair styling
- Skilled in various hairstyling techniques including braiding, twisting, threading,
- Familiarity with salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment booking and client management is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build lasting relationships with clients.
- Knowledge of retail sales strategies including upselling and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes sanitation standards and professional grooming practices.
- Ability to mentor others while maintaining a positive attitude that energizes both clients and team members.
