Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to provide safe and timely transportation services for patients requiring non-emergency medical appointments. This role involves operating various types of vehicles, including shuttle buses, limousines, or commercial vans, to transport clients to healthcare facilities, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
Duties
- Safely operate shuttle buses, limousines, or other commercial vehicles for patient transportation
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service
- Ensure vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and fueled before each shift
- Follow scheduled routes and pick-up/drop-off times accurately
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and patients to coordinate transportation needs
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle inspections
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, including heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Provide compassionate support to patients with mobility challenges or special needs
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with shuttle driving, bus driving, or limousine services preferred
- Prior delivery driver experience or commercial driving background is advantageous
- Experience in paratransit or school bus driving is a plus
- Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with patients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for passenger assistance or equipment handling
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and safety procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate attitude toward patients requiring transportation assistance
- Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to safety standards
