A Downtown organization is in need of a temporary to hire Staff Accountant!
The position is hybrid with 1 day being at home.
The Staff Accountant would be responsible for the following duties:
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process general ledger entries, including entries related to investment transactions and trading activity
Partner with the investment team to record and track trades, ensuring accurate accounting treatment in the GL
Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and resolve any discrepancies
Assist with monthly close, including preparation of income statement testing and variance analysis
Prepare internal financial reports
Compile and prepare quarterly regulatory report schedules
Assist with accounting and reconciliations for subsidiaries

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within banking or financial services
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
Exposure to investment accounting or financial instruments is highly preferred
Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems is a plus
Advanced Excel is required
