Host / Hostess (Cross-Training Opportunity Available)

Serrato's Steakhouse is seeking friendly, dependable, and hospitality-driven individuals to join our team as a Host/Hostess. As the first and last impression of our restaurant, our hosts play a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience. This position also offers the opportunity to cross-train as a Food Runner and Busser, allowing team members to develop new skills, gain additional hours, and grow within the company.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm, genuine smile and provide exceptional hospitality.
- Manage reservations and wait lists using our reservation system.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
- Answer phone calls and assist guests with reservations and general questions.
- Coordinate seating with servers and managers to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entrance.
- Assist with guest requests and help create a positive dining experience.
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting where needed.
Cross-Training Opportunities
Team members who are interested in expanding their skills may have the opportunity to cross-train as a:
Food Runner
- Deliver food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests.
- Ensure food is presented properly and communicate menu items to guests.
- Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to maintain efficient service.
Busser
- Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room.
- Refill water, assist servers, and support overall restaurant operations.
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and willingness to help others.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
