Duties
- Assist the head child care provider in implementing daily activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Support children with their routines, including diapering, feeding, nap times, and bathroom needs
- Engage with children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and learning exercises to stimulate curiosity and skill-building
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Observe children's progress, behaviors, and needs to inform ongoing developmental/ care plans
- Work with team members to manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar settings
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
- Ability to respond quickly with first aid skills in case of minor injuries or emergencies
- Compassionate caregiver with experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and caregiving best practices for toddlers and infants
