Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, service and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, chassis, containers and other equipment. You must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes for units to meet J. B. Hunt specifications at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
- Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
- Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs
- May troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair specialized trailer equipment, such as refrigerated units
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age with one or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- Must be A/C certified
- Must be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes
- Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License
- Advanced welding skills (MIG and stick)
- Knowledge of ABS systems
