American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 6 North Ortho-Urology unit, requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience and a NC or compact RN license.

36-bed Ortho-Urology Med/Surg Tele unit at a 351-licensed-bed teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
-
Patient population includes general med/surg and post-operative floor patients, including bariatric, hip, trauma surgical, and bucks traction cases, as well as CBI management
-
RN-to-patient ratio of 1:6
-
Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900–0730), 36 hours per week
-
Every other weekend rotation required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating to sister units 7 North and 7 South, both med/surg with the same ratios and expectations
-
EMR: Epic (experience required); also uses Omnicell for medication dispensing and Philips MX-40 monitors
-
IV pumps: Baxter (transitioning to Alaris in 2026)

Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of med/surg or ortho-urology RN experience, with most recent experience within the last year

Epic EMR experience required

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Provide care to post-operative and general med/surg patients, including CBI management and specialty surgical cases
-
Unit support includes CNA coverage, charge nurse, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring tech, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist (24/7); HUC/receptionist coverage available during day shift only

Facility orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental unit orientation provided

Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays

Royal blue scrubs required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible
