Overview

As a Utilities Manager, you will drive efficiency, safety, and innovation in utility operations while maintaining high standards for quality and safety regulations.
Duties
- Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, and associated systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee the operation of industrial pumps, water systems, and heavy equipment, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations.
- Manage data collection efforts related to water quality, system performance, and environmental compliance; analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform equipment repairs on water treatment equipment, pumps, plumbing fixtures, and wastewater systems.
- Implement safety protocols for heavy lifting, construction activities, and heavy equipment operation to protect staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and other automation technologies to resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of system performance, maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation for internal review and regulatory agencies.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the energy & utilities sector with a focus on water treatment or wastewater management.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating and repairing water treatment equipment, pumps, plumbing systems, and wastewater systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial automation tools.
- Experience working with tanker operations or handling large-scale water utility distribution systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water quality standards and wastewater discharge requirements.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for data analysis and system monitoring purposes.
- Prior construction experience or familiarity with infrastructure projects involving water systems is a plus.
