Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and passengers using radio or other communication devices to respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments.
- Follow all transportation safety regulations and emergency response procedures during daily operations.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading equipment.
Requirements
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and state/local commercial driving laws applicable to passenger transport.
- Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and emergency response procedures for transportation.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse communities.
- Ability to perform quick responses to traffic changes while maintaining safety standards.
- Basic first aid certification including CPR; familiarity with emergency stop procedures is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist as needed; comfortable working in various weather conditions.
