Job Overview
This role plays a critical part in our vehicle acquisition, reconditioning, and quality control process. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting newly acquired inventory, diagnosing vehicle concerns, communicating repair recommendations, ordering parts, assisting with repairs, and performing final pre-sale inspections.
The ideal candidate understands that proper diagnosis and inspection are just as important as the repair itself.
Responsibilities
Vehicle Acquisition Inspections
- Perform detailed inspections on newly purchased vehicles
- Identify mechanical, electrical, safety, and drivability concerns
- Evaluate overall vehicle condition and repair needs
- Create reconditioning recommendations for management
- Assist with estimating repair costs and repair priorities
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose check engine lights and drivability concerns
- Diagnose electrical, engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, and HVAC systems
- Utilize scan tools, live data, and service information systems
- Identify root causes rather than replacing parts based on assumptions
- Reduce repeat repairs and unnecessary parts replacement
Parts & Repair Coordination
- Identify and order necessary parts
- Verify proper part fitment and applications
- Communicate repair recommendations and parts requirements to management
- Assist with planning and prioritizing repairs
Quality Control & Pre-Sale Inspections
- Perform final pre-sale inspections before vehicles are listed or delivered
- Verify repairs have been completed properly
- Conduct test drives when necessary
- Confirm vehicles meet dealership safety and quality standards
- Ensure vehicles are sale-ready and customer-ready
Mechanical Repairs
- Engine repairs and replacements
- Transmission repairs and replacements
- Tune-ups and maintenance services
- Brake repairs
- Suspension repairs
- Oil changes and fluid services
- General automotive repairs and maintenance
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience using scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to identify root causes of vehicle concerns
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
Preferred
- ASE Certifications
- Experience with Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, and other European vehicles
- Dealership or independent repair shop experience
- Parts ordering experience
- Vehicle inspection and quality control experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Pay: From $800.00 per week
