Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
- Provide basic pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and conducting basic laboratory procedures.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinary team.
- Maintain cleanliness in kennels, treatment areas, and examination rooms to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-operative care instructions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or similar setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately and effectively.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of lifting, restraining, and caring for animals of various sizes.
