Insurance Verifier – Ambulatory Surgery Center | Full-Time | $24–$27/hr | Encino, CA
A busy Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Encino is seeking an experienced Insurance Verifier to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Insurance Verifier with strong experience in eligibility, benefits, prior authorizations, and insurance payer portals.
Pay, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay: $24–$27 per hour, DOE
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible start times at 7:30, 8:00, or 8:30 AM; 8-hour shift with 30-minute lunch
- Location: On-site in Encino, CA

Insurance Verifier Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled procedures
- Confirm deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket costs, and patient responsibility
- Obtain and follow up on prior authorizations and referrals
- Verify primary and secondary insurance coverage
- Review HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medi-Cal/Medicaid benefits
- Work with insurance carriers, physician offices, and surgery schedulers to resolve coverage or authorization issues
- Accurately document insurance verification and authorization activity
Insurance Verifier Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of recent Insurance Verifier / Medical Insurance Verification experience
- Strong knowledge of eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations
- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal/Medicaid
- Experience using payer and authorization portals
- Familiarity with Availity, Waystar, CareMore, eviCore, Blue Shield of California, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna preferred
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), surgery center, surgical practice, or medical office experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
