Pay: $21/hour (Wine Steward duties) | $16.37/hour + tips (Bartending duties)

Steak continues the legacy of one of the Twin Cities' most legendary culinary addresses, once home to the acclaimed La Belle Vie. Our menu showcases the best of American steakhouse tradition with a modern twist, from premium cuts dry-aged in full view to seasonal, thoughtfully sourced accompaniments, all served with warm, elevated hospitality.
We're looking for a Wine Steward/Bartender who takes real pride in both the craft of hospitality and the craft of wine, and wants to be part of this next chapter.
This is a hybrid role, part wine steward, part bartender, for someone who loves guest interaction as much as they love the technical side of running a top-tier beverage program.
What You'll Do
Wine Steward Responsibilities
- Contribute to weekly store invoice management and review, guest feedback and public review responses, upcoming events, staff/store updates, and ongoing initiatives
- Report all incidents and complaints to the Store Management Team via email/manager communication log
- Lead by example with high-level guest service, professional appearance, and constructive staff communication
- Manage weekly ordering to maintain proper stock and inventory levels to meet restaurant demand and menu offerings
- Ensure all wine orders are accounted for and properly secured
- Stock wine on the floor and in storage per specifications, and maintain accurate data on 86s, specials, and counts (Toast POS, whiteboard)
- Accurately record monthly inventory and COGs worksheets
- Purchase within weekly/monthly budget and catalog invoices, tracking purchases against financial records
- Support wine sales during service and lead a featured wine at pre-shift training each week
- Update wine menus seasonally in partnership with store management
- Partner with the Event Sales team to select wines for contracted events
- Meet with vendors as needed for tastings
- Plan and lead immersive quarterly staff wine training
- Support training and skill progression for new and existing staff
- Other duties as assigned
Bartending Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, attentive, high-quality bar service to every guest
- Prepare and serve drinks with accuracy, consistency, and craft
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar
- Support the overall guest experience alongside the FOH team
What You Bring
- Sommelier certification required
- Prior wine steward, sommelier, or beverage management experience preferred
- Bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale setting
- Strong working wine knowledge and passion for continued learning
- Comfort with inventory, budgeting, and vendor relationships
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
- Availability for full-time scheduling, including evenings/weekends
