Nurse Practitioner (APRN) – Infusion Center – Per Diem

Position Summary
BioHealth Infusion Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and clinically confident Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to provide per diem coverage at our Miami-Dade infusion center.
The Nurse Practitioner will support the safe administration of infusion and injectable therapies by conducting patient assessments, reviewing treatment orders and relevant clinical information, monitoring patients during treatment, documenting care, and responding appropriately to changes in a patient’s condition.
This position is ideal for a reliable healthcare professional who is comfortable working in an outpatient environment and collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and administrative team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments before, during, and after infusion or injectable therapy.
- Review medical history, current symptoms, vital signs, laboratory results, medication orders, allergies, and other relevant clinical information.
- Confirm that required clinical documentation and treatment orders are complete before therapy begins.
- Evaluate patients for treatment readiness and identify concerns requiring clarification or physician involvement.
- Monitor patients receiving infusion and injectable medications.
- Recognize and respond promptly to infusion reactions, adverse events, and changes in patient condition.
- Initiate appropriate emergency measures and coordinate escalation of care when necessary.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, supervising providers, registered nurses, pharmacists, and administrative team members.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment, possible reactions, medications, and follow-up instructions.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA, infection-control, medication-safety, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality-assurance, safety, emergency-preparedness, and clinical-compliance activities.
- Help maintain a professional, calm, welcoming, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification strongly preferred.
- Active DEA registration preferred if applicable to assigned responsibilities.
- Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience in infusion therapy, emergency medicine, urgent care, internal medicine, hospital medicine, specialty medicine, or another relevant clinical setting strongly preferred.
- Experience identifying and managing allergic reactions, infusion reactions, and clinical emergencies strongly preferred.
- Strong physical-assessment, critical-thinking, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Comfortable learning infusion protocols, specialty medications, and treatment-specific monitoring requirements.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records.
Preferred Clinical Experience
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Outpatient infusion services
- Biologic or specialty-medication administration
- Gastroenterology
- Neurology
- Rheumatology
- Allergy and Immunology
- Dermatology
- Ophthalmology
- Internal Medicine
- Emergency medicine or urgent care
- Management of infusion or hypersensitivity reactions

Schedule
This is a per diem position, with shifts scheduled according to patient volume and coverage needs. Availability may vary from week to week.
