Powersports F&I Manager
Role Summary
TC Powersports is a family owned dealership that is growing, but still small enough to pay attention to the individual customer experience. We are a full line Polaris, Indian, CF Moto, Honda and Kawasaki dealer. We offer motorcycles and off road machines.
The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for assisting customers in securing financing and insurance options for motorcycle and powersports purchases. This role involves structuring deals for maximum profitability and collectability while ensuring 100% compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate will provide an exceptional customer experience by presenting additional products that enhance vehicle ownership.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Deal Structuring
- Structure deals according to lender guidelines and dealership policies to ensure quick funding.
- Evaluate credit applications, run credit reports, and make informed credit decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with finance sources and evaluate new lender programs.
- Accurately desk deals and submit them to lenders for prompt approval.
- Convert cash deals to financed deals by effectively communicating the benefits of financing.
Product Sales & Performance
- Sell backend products including extended service plans, GAP coverage, tire/wheel protection, and pre-paid maintenance.
- Fill in for General Sales Manager as needed so product knowledge is crucial
- Utilize a feature/benefit selling methodology to ensure all customers receive a consistent, professional presentation.
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales objectives and penetration targets.
- Monitor key performance metrics such as revenue, gross margin, and closing ratios.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements, including the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Fully oversee the title and registration process and maintain proficiency with relevant laws.
- Prepare all deal packages with complete documentation and ensure expeditious funding from lenders.
- Audit team deals post-sale for accuracy and compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Sales and Service departments to streamline the delivery process.
- Provide training and support to sales associates regarding F&I products and compliance standards.
- Maintain a Finance & Insurance logbook and provide requested reports to management.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of automotive or powersports F&I experience preferred.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dealership management software (e.g., CDK, Lightspeed, Talon), CRM systems and Internet-based software.
- Certifications: AFIP (Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals) certification is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proven closing skills.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required; motorcycle endorsement preferred.
