Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and passionate individual to join our team as a Dog Trainer, focused on private lessons with clients. This is a part-time position to start, with the opportunity to grow into full-time based on performance and business needs, typically within about 6 months.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with dogs and feel confident handling a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. While prior professional training experience is valuable, we are open to candidates who have developed strong dog handling skills through environments such as veterinary clinics, dog daycare facilities, boarding operations, rescues, shelters, or similar settings.
The right candidate will enjoy the challenges that come with working with dogs of varying temperaments and will be comfortable communicating directly with clients about our training philosophy and services. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct private training lessons with clients, focusing on basic obedience, behavior modification, and socialization in the Greater Nashville area
- Educate pet owners on effective training techniques, proper handling, and care for their dogs
- Conduct assessments for prospective clients
- Interact professionally with clients and the public
- Attend marketing events to promote our services
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings
- Utilize our CRM for sales with prospective clients
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to bend and squat for extended periods
- Ability to react and move quickly
- Ability to work outside in various TN weather conditions
Qualifications

Schedule
- Part-time, up to 24 hours per week to start
- Schedule options: Monday through Friday, or a condensed 3-day work week
- Flexible availability is essential, as this is not a typical 9-to-5 job
Training Period
- Training runs approximately 5-6 weeks
- Hours will vary during the training period and will require travel
- Availability is needed for both mornings and evenings, Monday through Saturday
