Elizabeth N. Bartlett, CPA, LLC is seeking an experienced CPA to manage established client relationships and help lead the tax and advisory work of our growing firm.
This is a full-time, in-office position on Daniel Island in the Charleston area. It is not a remote or hybrid position. Candidates must currently live within commuting distance or be prepared to relocate.
The person joining us will have meaningful responsibility for clients, tax planning, quality control, staff development, and firm improvement. This is an opportunity to use the full range of your experience while helping shape the future of a growing local CPA firm.

What You Will Do
- Manage a portfolio of individual and business clients as their dependable year-round advisor.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, fiduciaries, nonprofit organizations, and other entities.
- Provide proactive tax planning and practical recommendations to individuals and closely held business owners.
- Review financial statements, workpapers, general ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Research tax matters and clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients and team members.
- Identify tax risks, planning opportunities, and additional ways the firm can support its clients.
- Review the work of other accounting professionals and provide constructive guidance.
- Coordinate with firm leadership and staff to keep assignments moving accurately and on schedule.
- Contribute to workflow improvements, quality-control practices, team development, and continued firm growth.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- Public accounting experience with individual and business taxation
- Experience preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience managing client relationships and communicating with business owners and individual taxpayers
- Ability to review the work of other accounting professionals
- Sound professional judgment and the ability to research and resolve tax matters
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with professional tax, accounting, document-management, and workflow software
- Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting platform
Five or more years of public accounting experience is preferred. We will also consider an accomplished Tax Senior or Senior Tax Accountant who holds an active CPA license, has strong review and client-management experience, and is ready to assume greater leadership responsibility.
Preferred Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who have advised closely held businesses and their owners, developed accounting staff, improved firm processes, or managed a substantial client portfolio.
Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and related products is helpful but not required.

Schedule and Location
This position is based at our office on Daniel Island, South Carolina. Regular in-person collaboration is important for serving clients, supporting the team, reviewing work, and contributing to daily operations.
Additional availability is expected during tax season and other peak filing periods. Scheduling flexibility is available during the summer. Specific schedule expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
